Elaine is a rare, canon-backed female Pepe character created by Matt Furie himself, first posted exclusively on his official Patreon in 2021. She’s a Pepe-style reinterpretation of Elaine Benes, the iconic character from the classic TV show Seinfeld, originally portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The image comes from the documentary Feels Good Man, which explores the cultural evolution of Pepe the Frog. Elaine stands out in meme culture as a unique fusion of classic television and Pepe lore, not just a fan creation, but one directly from the source.
On June 6, 2025, a guy named Kevin shared a fun and cute drawing his 11-year-old kid made of Elaine, a girl version of Pepe the Frog, after watching Matt Furie’s documentary "Feels Good Man" together, which left the child utterly obsessed. The artwork, captioned with hope that Furie would like it. Then, something amazing happened, Matt Furie, Pepe’s creator, saw the drawing and shared it on X/Twitter. This is a big deal because Furie doesn’t often share fan art, especially since some people used Pepe in a bad way before. This return of Elaine fits with Furie’s work in 2021 to bring back Pepe’s original meaning.
